About Dr Glenn D Fredericksen DC. B.Chiro
Doctor of Chiropractic
Glenn moved across the globe to The United Kingdom from New Zealand early in 2009 bringing with him a truly natural approach to health and wellbeing. His work up until now has been contract work for established Chiropractic practices which has seen him live in both York and Brighton. Now he has moved to Shropshire to live, work and be closer to family connections.
Glenn himself has enjoyed the benefits of regular chiropractic care since he was 17 for no other reason but to be healthier and stronger. Now he loves to share this healthy approach to life with others. Through a natural Chiropractic lifestyle, Glenn finds that he is able to move easier and recover faster from body fatigue, is more resistant to the common illnesses we find bouncing from person to person and is also more productive with more energy and better concentration. This is because Chiropractic care focuses its attention primarily to the nervous system and provides appropriate gentle adjustments to the spine to reduce tension from building up effecting nerve communication to and from the body. A free flowing nervous system is able to regulate your body functions optimally which promotes healthier function.
Glenn trained back home at the prestigious New Zealand College of Chiropractic which is world renowned for its vitalistic approach to Chiropractic and health. He became interested in Chiropractic, the biggest natural, drugless profession in the world after his initial experience with Chiropractic. It was in this first experience where he discovered that health shouldn’t just be repaired when is broken but it should be maintained and nurtured.
During his time as an Associate Chiropractor at Chiropractic 1st in York, Glenn enjoyed working with people of all ages and from all walks of life. Glenn has worked with many sports people who have benefited from Chiropractic care which has enabled them to heal quicker from injuries and to perform better because of improved biomechanics.
Again while being a part of the team at Chiropractic Life in Brighton and Hove, Glenn was able to enjoy his work with a wide variety of people. During this time he was part of the bestof’s 14 days of love promotion where Chiropractic Life was able to retain their title of most loved Chiropractors for the second year.
Chiropractic for children has been a special interest of Glenn’s and during his continuing professional development in 2009/10 Glenn attended seminars for providing focused care during pregnancy and Chiropractic care for newborn infants, children and adolescents.
“I have enjoyed working with a wide variety of people, from sports enthusiasts to Professional business persons as well as young children and the not so young. So far I have had the pleasure to provide regular Chiropractic care to an infant as young as 14 days right up to a very lovely healthy agile 87 year old.”
The spine or vertebral column, made up of 33 bones, must protect the spinal cord (the main communicating network from the brain) and be flexible (so we can move about) which is great, but because of this dual function we are susceptible to causing small misalignments between parts of the spine (called a subluxation). These misalignments are what Chiropractors are looking for in your spine and their gentle specific adjustments are applied to your spine with just the right amount of force to correct the misalignment and leave you feeling comfortable.
Essentially, Chiropractic is about helping the body to help itself. Glenn says “I love being a Chiropractor and helping people to achieve a higher level of health and wellbeing through regular Chiropractic Care, natural nutritional and exercise advice and a positive mental attitude. This natural form of health care increases your potential on every level: mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. It is extremely satisfying to be part of a positive, proactive model of health care”.
